Babies a plenty |

The reserve suddenly seems to be teaming with babies. Bothe the Makhutswi and the Mopani lion prides have very small cubs, which the lucky few have managed to get a glimpse of already, and we have a new baby rhino. Buffalo Calf |

The celebration is on as our first female buffalo calf is welcomed to Makalali. The breeding program initiated in November 2008, has to date only produced male calves, which did not pose well for the initial growth curves of the herd. A total of 14 disease free buffalo now inhabit Makalali and the breeding project is officially in motion. |
